Rest in God’s Assurance
TEXT: Jeremiah 34:1-11
“Yet hear the word of the Lord, O Zedekiah king of Judah; Thus saith the Lord of thee, Thou shalt not die by the sword” (Jeremiah 34:4)
God’s prophesy had since been given that the king and people of Judah must be carried to Babylon as captives. The message must have been treated as a non-issue, but God decided to re-emphasize His unfailing words. This time, he sent Jeremiah. There is no doubting the fact that such a message evokes fear and anxiety, but God assured King Zedekiah of safety in the land of Babylon: “Thou shalt not die by the sword.”
The economic recession that recently hit the world has continued to claim casualties. Moreover, certain policies by governments have also continued to put pressure on people. Many people have been incapacitated, rendered homeless and unemployed. There have been negative developments that have continued to agitate the minds of citizens in the affected countries. In the midst of all these, we must wholly trust in the word of God. Although it may take time, His word must surely come to pass.
God has a message for you today: You shall not die by the famine (economic recession). No matter how terrible the situation, always reassure yourself that the good Lord will continue to pilot you.
Always put your trust in God. He will never fail you.
