TODAY COMES BEFORE TOMORROW

“Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth” (Proverbs 27: 1)

One of the greatest distracters in success pursuit is the influx of yesterday’s problems and tomorrow’s prospects. Domination of the thoughts of past mistakes and future apprehensions will always hamper your dedication to the present goal pursuit. You give chance to a setback on your success journey when you allow the failures of the past to keep you from living in the present to carry out your action plans for the future. There is no progress in looking backward. You cannot look forward at the same time while you are looking backward. Never join the retrospect that are fond of taking a step forward and many steps backward. Concentrate on your work today without allowing yesterday’s worry and tomorrow’s anxiety to hinder today’s achievement for tomorrow’s prospect.

The scriptures have given a proven principle for youngsters to follow as they labor for success. As an antidote to unnecessary distractions in your success endeavor, the Bible counsel that focused youths must be, “forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before”.  You will do yourself much good in your studies if you apply this principle in your work. Jesus says, “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof” (Matthew 6: 34).

Challenge:      Living in the past makes one to be lost from focusing on the future

Prayer:           Help me dear Lord, to cast my entire burden upon you to live in the present.
