Point 3. THE ADAMANT REJECTERS OF THE MESSIAH’S MESSAGE
Mark 6:11
“And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.” (Mark 6:11).
This is for those who were adamant and reject the message coming through those disciples from the Lord. They were to:
(i) Shake off their dust as a Symbol – Mark 6:11; Isaiah 13:13; Hebrews 12:25-26,29; Revelations 6:13-17. This is to remind them that a time of shaking is coming that all those who reject the word of God will be shaken off in judgment from the mercy God.
(ii) To Show them that their suffering will be greater than that of Sodom – Mark 6:11; Matthew 11:23-24; 2 Peter 3:7; Jude 7; Hebrews 10:26-27,31; 2 Corinthians 6:17,18; 7:1; Revelations 18:4; 2 Timothy 2:19,21-22; 1 Peter 4:17,18; Jude 21,24-25. Those who rejected the word of repentance, and the possibility of salvation through those apostles, their suffering in eternity will be greater than that of Sodom. “And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee” (Matthew 11:23-24). They have seen mighty works through Christ but would not repent and believe on Him. Ungodly men who reject the message of salvation are reserved unto fire on the day of judgement. Pray that you will not be among them (2 Peter 3:7). Sin will not be more pleasurable to you than salvation. Salvation and Sanctification separate us from Sodom. “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty” (2 Corinthians 6:17,18). Don’t reject the message, repent and turn around, receive the Lord Jesus Christ and let Him save you, and after that salvation, let Him sanctify you (2 Corinthians 7:1). Don’t remain adamant and in sin, come out of evil, repent and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour (Revelations 18:4), and then the judgement of God will pass over you in Jesus Name. The Lord will keep you from sin, and will keep sin from you, and you will not perish. You will not remain a sinner or ungodly. The Lord will keep you in righteousness and faithful, and when the trumpet sounds, you will be there in Jesus Name (Jude 21,24-25). The glory of God will be upon your life, the salvation of the Lord you will have. Christ has the power, and He is delegating that power to you. Lord, I believe! As you believe the promise and power of God, that delegated power will work mightily in your life in Jesus Name. You believe in salvation, sanctification, delegated power and anointing, signs and wonders following, the Lord will work with you, and many souls will be saved through you; the sick will be healed and evil spirits will be cast out so that their souls will be saved as well.
Ponder on this! They knew so much of the natural that they missed the supernatural, knew so much of history and missed His healing, knew so much of his natural family and they missed the spiritual fellowship. For those who listened to Christ with the right attitude and proper condition of hearts, His teaching brought transformation, came with power and led them into discipleship, and His message produced miracles of salvation, healings, deliverance, purity and power.
