Point 2. THE POWERLESSNESS OF THE FAITHLESS AMONG SAINTS
Mark 9:14-22,28; James 1:6-7; Hebrews 3:12,19; 4:1-2,6; Ephesians 6:16
When a believer, a child of God prays, what makes your prayer to be answered is your faith in Christ. Your fasting becomes effective as a result of your faith in God. There are many who pray and do a lot of shouting, acrobatics, and a lot of sacrificial things that put pain on them; but it is your faith in God that makes your prayer to be answered. “And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.” (Mark 9:18). When some people pray and immediate answer has not come, they give up with excuses and stop praying; but you will not stop praying, asking and demanding. It is God’s Will to answer your prayer. Unbelief and faithlessness of anyone praying will not change God’s Will. God’s Will will be perfected in your life. If you have prayed before and no answer, come again to Jesus tonight and solution will come. That evil power will be neutralised in your life, family and body in Jesus’ name (Mark 9:19). While you are praying, the devil may threaten, but that is his last chance, keep on praying (Mark 9:20). Whatever problem, even from childhood, hereditary and from whatever direction, the Lord has come to restore, rescue, empower and set you free. Nothing from Satan nor from evil society will destroy you in Jesus’ name. “And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?” (Mark 9:28). Why is a believer’s prayer not answered? For the disciples who had been given power, they walked in the natural. For them and other believers the answers are –
(i) Forgetfulness. They forgot the power, promise and that the Lord had given them, and were praying in the natural. (ii) Fearfulness. People are fearful of the manifestation of the demonic. But you will not be afraid for the devil is defeated and is under your feet. (iii) Feeding without exercise. There are people that feed from the bread of life, but do not act on the word. They become fat and feeble. When you hear the word of God, act, exercise and do and you will succeed in Jesus’ name. (iv) The Famine of the Word (not the disciples). They read and get nothing. (v) Familiarity with the Word which sometimes brings contempt of the Source and Personality of Power; it can make you powerless and not receive answer to your prayers. (vi) Fretfulness. Why worry when Christ is on the throne? He can and will do everything. (vii) Fault-finding makes people miss their miracle.The Scribes did not possess the power because they were faultfinders and they missed their miracles.
Jesus is able to save to the uttermost, but unbelief denies people of; (a) Genuine salvation (b) Healing; (c) Deliverance; (d) Christian experiences; (e) Holiness; (f) Answers to prayers; (g) Victory, power and joy; (h) Satisfaction; (i) Fellowship with God; and (j) Heaven
Unbelief brings instability in life and ministry, “Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God” (Hebrews 3:12). For you to profit with what you are hearing, the word must mix with faith so you can possess and for there to be manifestation. Some preach but do not personalise the word and allow it to mix with faith in them. Unbelief will not remain in your heart, but you will manifest faith tonight. See what faith can do, “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked” (Ephesians 6:16). All darts, arrows or affliction of the devil we will destroy and break tonight in Jesus’ name.
Point 3. THE POSSIBLITIES OF FAITH IN HIS SUFFICIENCY
Mark 9:23-27; Matthew 17:20; Mark 11:22-24; Romans 4:17-21
Christ is sufficient for me. Everything you need, ask, seek and are knocking the door of heaven for, all those things are possible tonight. The Lord will answer your prayer. No discrimination or partiality in Heaven. The man came to Jesus to seek for help if He can do anything to help them. The ‘if’ is not on God’s side but on your side, “Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth” (Mark 9:23). Mountain in your life, family, impediment in your spiritual life shall be remove, “And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you” (Matthew 17:20). You may not see in the physical, you will confess it before its creation, like Abraham. “(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were” (Romans 4:17). Your case is not hopeless, have faith in God, don’t consider how you feel, what you see or touch (Romans 4:18-19). There is going to be a performance in your life tonight God cannot lie. All things we have are by faith; salvation, sanctification, acceptance and assurance, purity and power, confidence and courage, boldness and authority, healing and health, signs and wonders, supernatural grace, spiritual gifts, sufficiency, all things at all times in all places, in every situation are possible unto you. And it is all by faith. “And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief” (Mark 9:24). If there is belief on the surface, and a little unbelief underneath, yet God will answer your prayers. Once the Lord speaks to that spirit or anyone causing your problem, the work is done; your feeling will not change the efficiency Christ’s Words (Mark 9:25). “But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose” (Mark 9:27). He will lift you up tonight, and you arise in strength, power, authority, with the answers, dominion, victory, and healing. All things are possible unto you because you believe.
Ponder on this! Nothing happened to Christ by accident; and when you come to Him and become a new creature, nothing in your life comes by surprise. The Lord knows about you; your name is in the Book of Life. He has written good things concerning you and they will be fulfilled in Jesus’ name. Pastor (Dr) W.F Kumuyi.
Ponder on this! So, understand that nothing happened to Christ by accident and nothing took Him by surprise. It was written concerning Him that He would suffer, make sacrifice for the salvation of the whole of humanity, His betrayal, death and resurrection, and they were fulfilled according to prophecies even to the minutest details.
